Since the day of its foundation, Motovilikhinskiye zavody were created as the defence enterprise of the closed cycle: from melt of steel - up to an output of ready products.

For this reason manufacture of high-quality metal always formed the basis for the subsequent manufacturing of reliable and faultless armament responding the highest modern requirements.

Paying tribute to metallurgists' traditions of the past years, at present OAO "Motovilikhinskiye zavody" supports and continuously improves high quality of melted metal.

Since 1998 OAO "Motovilikhinskiye zavody" carries out profound modernization of the metallurgical complex directed on transformation of motovilikha's metallurgy to manufacture of the 21 century.

Establishing of the complex of the modern equipment was a result of radical reconstruction of steelmelting manufacture on OAO "Motovilikhinskiye zavody". Complex of the modern equipment consists from:

• super-power arc steelmelting furnace ASF-60/70 designed by company "FUCHS Systemtechnik" (Germany) equipped by three wall burners, including multifuel refining burner providing achievement of the low content of phosphorus in steel (melting process is completely automated);
• aggregate of complex steel treatment "ACST" designed by company "FUCHS Systemtechnik" (Germany) for realization of operations on delicate correction of metal's chemical structure, profound desulfurizing and removal of non metal inclusions (the process of treatment is completely automated);
• installation of continuous steel melting for obtaining of graded and plate stock or consumable electrode for the next electroslag remelting;
• installation of electroslag remelting for obtaining of especially high-quality metal with the ultralow content of sulfur.

The wide technological possibilities of the established equipment, allow to combine operational processes of steelmelting, achieving obtaining of the required characteristics.

At present melt of steel on OAO "Motovilikhinskiye zavody" is made by 3 methods:

• Melting of liquid ferrocarbon stock in ASF-60/70, finishing it up to the given chemical structure and temperature, profound refining of metal on installation "ACST" with next casting in forged ingots or continuous stock;
• Melting of liquid ferrocarbon stock in ASF-60/70, liquid alloying by an alloy melted in ASF-12, treatment in "ACST" and casting in forged ingots or continuous stock;
• Melting of liquid ferrocarbon stock in ASF-60/70 with liquid alloying or without it, treatment in installation "ACST", casting with reception of a consumable electrode and its next electroslag remelting under refining fluxes.

High precision of obtaining of metal's chemical structure (deflection up to 0,02 %) is achieved by using of the modern computerized equipment for putting alloyed components and modifiers, and also specialized devices for heating and mixing of melt in a ladle, in technological process of special steel melting.

OAO "Motovilikhinskiye zavody" offers to the potential partners:

• To manufacture and to deliver at their address the specialized grades of steel (artillery, armour, highalloyed and etc.), including according to the engineering specifications of the customer;
• To manufacture and to deliver armour plate steel with the sizes of a plate 1500x1500 … … 4500 mm and thickness from 8 up to 20 mm;
• To manufacture and to deliver forged bars of artillery systems' barrels with the length up to 8000 mm., diameter of the barrel's bore up to 240 mm., weight up to 5 t., including according to characteristics and geometry of the customer.
