In 1987 the production of 300-mm MLRS "Smerch" was organized.
According to ratings of many experts, Russian MLRS "Smerch" is
the best rocket artillery system. A number of fundamentally new technical
solutions embodied in a design of rocket projectile and FV's launcher, allows
to classify it as completely new weapon’s generation of this type. First of
all it applies to the world's first spinning rocket projectile flight correction
system. Flight correction in pitch and yaw accomplished via control system
signals is effected by gas actuator, which design has no analogues in the
world. Correction is made relatively data of flight task, which are inputed
remotely by the equipment of the fighting vehicle through the patented attachment
device, original by the design.
At present BM-9A52-2 is made as a modernized model.
Up-dating of BM-9A52-2 via introduction of combat control and communication
equipment (CCCE) and automated guidance and fire control system (AGFCS) has
additionally provided for:
- automated high-speed reception (trans-mission) of information and its
protection from the non-authorized access, visual representation of the information
on the screen of the computer and its storage;
- exchange of the telecode information with the control vehicle;
- tube cluster initial orientation;
- definition of initial coordinates;
- definition of the current coordinates during movement with displaying
of its location and route of movement on the computer's electronic map of
the district;
- guiding of tube cluster without exit of a crew from a cabin and without
use of laying points.
At the request of the customer the fighting vehicle can be equipped with
autonomous conditioning system on the basis of parts of well-known world manufacturers.
Fighting vehicle 9A52-2 is intended for destruction of attacking means,
tank, motorized infantry units in concentration areas, on march and in combat
order, of artillery battalions in concentration areas, of helicopters at landing
fields, air and naval assault units and other targets. |
