152-mm towed gun 2A36 "Giatsint-B" is intended for suppression and destruction of hostile manpower, firing means and combat materiel on march, at concentration areas and strong points.

The gun has maximum muzzle energy in comparison with the analogues systems. Its equipped with semi-automatic breech mechanism, hydropneumatic accumulator using the recoil energy, chain rammer for separate shell and charge case ramming into the barrel chamber, a tray with the hydraulic jack for firing with the wheels off the ground, two-speed elevating mechanism.

Firing is providing with separate-case loading rounds. The gun can be operated in various weather and climatic conditions.
