Representatives of OAO MZ have attended the 7th International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2005, held February 13th through the 17th of the current year in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates capital. With some 900 companies of 50 countries and 68 high rank delegations participating, the event was announced as one of the most prestigious and largest Middle East displays of advances in military weapons and technology.
Russia exhibited 40 major native defence enterprises and organizations, joint under the aegis of Rosoboronexport. The total amount of exhibited articles went beyond 500.
The products and services of OAO “Motovilikhinskiye Zavody” were displayed in the Land Forces sector, which turned out to be one of the most comprehensive and abundant parts of the Show.
The foreign customers were offered a state-of-the-art sample of MZ artillery, 2S31 VENA. This 120-mm self-propelled automated multi-purpose gun is mounted on the standardized BMP-3 chassis. VENA is designed for firing with direct and indirect laying. It employs regular projectiles and native and foreign bombs.
