On 12-15 April 2004, OAO Motovilikhinskiye Zavody participated in the 9th International arms and military equipment exhibition DSA-2004 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Defense Services Asia is by right considered the largest arms exhibition in Asian and Pacific region and is held every 2 years under patronage of the Malaysian Defense Ministry.
On the DSA-2004, some 500 military companies and concerns from 40 countries, including 51 leading enterprises of Russian Military and Industrial Complex, exhibited their products.
During the exhibition, OAO Motovilikhinskiye Zavody’s exposition was visited by the Land forces commander of Malaysia and the Chairman of the Malaysian Arms Purchasing Committee. Besides, OAO MZ representatives had meetings with delegations from Korea, Indonesia, Spain, Netherlands, India, USA, China and Malaysia.
The OAO MZ products and updating programs were highly estimated by A. Burutin, Councillor of President of Russia and A. Morosov, Russian Embassador in Malaysia. These officials expressed their concern by visiting the exposition several times.
The representatives of South-East Asia region Armed Forces displayed strong interest in MLRS manufactured by OAO MZ. On that basis a perspective of further negotiations and additional consultations was outlined.
The next DSA exhibition will be held in Kuala Lumpur in April 2006.
