In the period from February 4 till February 7 2004 ÎÀÎ “Motovilikhinskiye zavody” has took part in the international exhibition of armament and military engineering “DefenceExpo-2004” (Delhi, India).
As a member of FGUP “Rosoboronexport’s” exposition, ÎÀÎ “Motovilikhinskiye zavody” demonstrated upgraded variants of MLRS “Grad” and “Smerch”, and also serial line of guns – mortars (multi purpose guns) “Nona-Vena”.
During the operation of the exhibition, on the stand of ÎÀÎ “Motovilikhinskiye zavody” the meetings with the representatives and delegations from Bulgaria, Byelorussia, Great Britain, France, Nepal, Germany, Thailand and India were conducted.
The large interest shown by the visitors of the stand to MLRS “Smerch” on the Tatra chassis has not become unexpectedness. The Indian ministry of defense considers the purchase of several such complexes, as well as updating of MLRS “Grad”, standing on service in the Indian army.
Heightened attention among the military specialists was payed to 120 mm the towed multi purpose gun “Nona-K”. Due to such distinctive features as a small combat weight (1,2t), the low height of fire line (0,66m), small overall dimensions, at high rate of fire and range of fire (up to 13 000 m.)- all this could not remain without attention of the foreign experts.
Some Indian companies came out with the initiative to ÎÀÎ “Motovilikhinskiye zavody” about joint maintenance and service of the armament of Soviet-Russian production, which is on the arms at the Indian Ministry of Defence.
