This year, OAO "Motovilikhinskiye zavody" has took part in the International aviation & space salon "MAKS" for the third time. On the opened exhibition area OAO "MZ" together with SPLAV SRPA, Signal SRI, Kulon SRI, Radiozavod FSUE demonstrated cooperation of: RPV "Pchela", control and data processing station, command-staff vehicle "Slepok" and MLRS "Smerch".
Remotely piloted vehicle (RPV) is intended for aerial reconnaissance. The onboard reconnaissance equipment comprises a TV camera or infrared sensor. The reception of the information carries out a control and data processing station, whence data on the opponent are transmitted to the command-staff vehicle (CSV). CSV assigns targets to destruction weapons and computes flight assignment data for MLRS "Smerch". The combat vehicle, because of combat control and communication equipment (CCCE) and automated guidance and fire control system (AGFCS), carries out automated high-speed reception of the information and automated tube cluster guidance with the crew staying in the cabin. Despite of apparent duration of information's transmission, reconnaissance data act in real-time mode, and only a few seconds is spent on the rest. Such complex considerably increase an overall performance of MLRS "Smerch", rightfully considered as one of the most effective systems of multiple launch fire in the world.
Also, OAO "MZ" demonstrated upgraded BM-21 "Grad" at the opened demonstration area.
OAO "MZ" in cooperation with Rosoboronexport FSUE and Splav SPRA, has conducted meetings with delegations from Saudi Arabia, Congo, China, Algeria and USA during the working days of the salon.
A number of representatives from the indicated delegations have expressed interest both in purchase of such complexes, and in modernization of previously delivered systems of rocket-artillery armament.
In opinion of the experts, the demonstration of upgraded complex is a serious step in promotion of Russian MLRS to the world market.
